Ok so I’m looking to upgrade my PC but not by just buying a new 1. I want to put new fans and new ram and maybe a new CPU and also a new PSU.
My pc is the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop and the model number is TG01-0023w. And I looked at the specs of the motherboard and how it can have the type of ram I’m looking for in it but for some reason it can’t have the cpu I was looking for in it and by the way the cpu I’m looking for has an am4 socket which works for the motherboard but the problem is that the wattage or recommended wattage for the new cpu I want to put in it is like 100 watts which is like way too much wattage for the motherboard and the motherboards recommended wattage for a cpu is 65w so I’m thinking. If replace the psu with 1 that has enough for my components will it work?

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06693646
It supports
- TDP: up to 65 W
- Socket type: AM4
- Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:ProcessorTDPIntegrated graphicsAMD Ryzen 5 3400G, 3.7 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.2 GHz burst frequency, 4 MB cache, Quad core (Picasso)65 WRadeon Vega 11 GraphicsAMD Ryzen 3 3200G, 3.6 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.0 GHz burst frequency, 4 MB cache, Quad core (Picasso)65 WRadeon Vega 8 GraphicsAMD Athlon 300UGE, 3.6 GHz Base frequency, 4 MB cache, Dual core (Picasso)65 WRadeon Vega 3 GraphicsAMD Ryzen 5 3500, 3.4 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.1 GHz burst frequency, 16 MB cache, Hexa core (Matisse)65 WNAAMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 3.6 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.4 GHz burst frequency, 32 MB cache, Octa core (Matisse)65 WNA
Upgrade to a 100W CPU won't work because motherboard supports the above list which shows 65W processors. Upgrading PSU won't help.
Regards.
