I am trying to upgrade my sons storage for gaming he has a HP OMEN - Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER - 512GB SSD - Shadow Black. I need to get an ssd for storage.  I also purchased 16 gb memory (2 sticks). Would it have been ok to buy two 32gb?

@MSBATES , welcome to the Community.

Yes, you could have purchased two 32 GB thumb drives.  However, if you will provide the exact model of the computer I will give you more options.

I personally like to use USB External Hard Drives for storage.  I have a 1 TB and 2 TB USB drive.  They work great.
