Product: HP Envy Phoenix H9 series
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm in the process of buying upgrades for my h9-1460ea gaming PC, and I've sorted my RAM upgrades so it's utilising the maximum 32GB rather than the original 6GB. I'd appreciate some guidance on upgrading the graphics card and SSD; it still has the GTX 660 it came with, but I'm not particularly knowledgeable about GPUs. I've heard the GTX 1060 is a good upgrade for it and fits the case etc., but I've noticed its power requirements are 400W and my PC runs on 600W; does this make a difference, and therefore will I need a new power supply also? And in terms of the SSD, it still has the original 128GB SSD, but I plan on also upgrading this to at least a 500GB or 1TB upgrade from Crucial, but I'm unsure if there's anything else I need to account for. 

 

Any advice on GPUs and SSD's for this model would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for asking serious question prior to purchase.

1) The 600W PSU will only provide what is needed. Actually, there is only a 20W difference in card wattage.

2)  There are several free "cloning programs" to migrate everything to the new SSD.

IMHO, Samsung EVO 860 SSD's are a proven choice.

 So, in short (as previously stated I'm not incredibly knowledgable on upgrading PCs), I don't need a new PSU for a GTX 1060? And are Crucial SSDs still decent in your opinion? Merely considering my budget as the Samsung SSDs suggested are somewhat more expensive.

Yes to the GTX 1060, no issue. Just be sure to delete the software and driver of the GTX 660 before you remove the card. The PSU is no problem.  No issue with the Crucial name. Not familiar with their warranty. You will have to use a different clone program, ie the free version of EaseUS Todo Backup program  which has a clone module
