Hello I am planning on upgrading the 1070 I have to a 5700 xt the Xfx Thicc 3 ultra to be exact my concern is if the card will fit and I'm having a tough time deciding if it will.

You should assure that there is enough space for good airflow.  This is extremely important!!  The new video cards develop a lot of heat.

 

The power supply unit (PSU) will have to be upgraded, also.  The current PSU is 500W.  Here are the specifications for the card from XFX: https://www.xfxforce.com/gpus/radeon-tm-rx-5700-xt-8gb-gddr6-thicc-iii-ultra

 

It states that minimum PSU of 600W w/2x8-pin PCIe external power connectors.
