Omen 40L

Hi, I would like to know if its possible to change the GPU in my Omen 40L (currently nVidia GeForce RTX 3070) to a nVidia Quadro RTX 4000?

@ClydeTower,

Well, then: if you are looking for an actual Omen 40L User who fitted a Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000, look no further then this example: HP OMEN by HP 40L Gaming Desktop GT21-0xxx Performance Results - UserBenchmark.

Based on its performances, this rig seems to be doing great.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@ClydeTower,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

An HP RTX 3070 OEM 8GB GDDR6 according to: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/hp-rtx-3070-oem.b8574, requires a recommended minimum 550-watt power supply.

A Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000 8GB GDDR6 according to: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/quadro-rtx-4000.c3336, requires a recommended minimum 450-watt power supply.

Therefore, we can safely conclude that whatever the wattage of the power supply of your Omen 40L is, if your RTX 3070 ran well, a Quadro RTX 4000 should get sufficient power to run A-OK also.  Just make sure the Quadro fits in your case.

Hope this was helpful.

hi

see all the same if you absolutely need this model and not another ..
look at the comparisons, quality / price ratio etc, you may not be so winning!

it's to run CAD applications such as Solidworks, Rhino, Autocad or Keyshot... The Quadro cards are optimized for this, just want to make sure it will run properly in the Omen 40L + Ryzen 7 5800x

if you have the required system as mentioned, no particular reason why it won't work
but only a user who has already tried, could affirm it
maybe you will  have to uninstall the original card drivers, and use the nvidia studio drivers (if available)!
