Hi,
I have had a similar problem. All I did was unplug a keyboard dongle from the front port and the plastic piece just fell out. The USB port still works however I'm acuity aware that it's only a matter of time before the pins get bent or broken causing bigger issues. My HP G9 is basically brand new and like the other party anoted I've plugged accessories in and out of usb ports thousands of times and never had this happen. I've tried to get this repaired under warrenty but was also told that I have damaged it so it's a chargeable repair. I asked the assistant (who herself to be fair was very nice) to check with someone again as I have not damaged the usb port I just unplugged my keyboard. The assistant again after putting me on hold come back and said that it's induced damage so not repairable under warrenty and then added that if I don't pay to get it repaired that this is logged and if anything happens in the future that causes a motherboard problem it will not be covered by warrenty. Im quite honeslty shocked that a company of this size would try to pull a move like this.
I also am trying to find a way to log a direct complaint but all I get is redirected back to the same people.
Can someone please help me with an official contact for complaints.
Kind regards
David
