I bought this HP victus PC: https://www.elkjop.no/product/pc-datautstyr-og-kontor/pc/stasjonar-pc/hp-victus-15l-i5-14400f16gb102...

Sorry, I wasn't able to add the product number when posting this, but it is 4CE419BJTG

It says it has VGA. However, when I open the PC, the VGA is blocked with a plastic piece saying do not remove.

Does my VGA work? Can I make it work? Why does the website says it has VGA? Can I remove the plastic and test, without losing any guarantees?

The VGA port is blocked for two reasons:

1. Your PC came with a video card which disables the onboard video.

2. The i5 14400F processor does not support the onboard Intel graphics.

Thanks for the quick reply!

But to be honest, I don't understand what this means. Could you explain your two points in different words?

And if the VGA does not work, why does the PC have the port, and why was this marketed on the website I bought the PC on? Because VGA was one of the reasons I bought this PC.

You're very welcome.

I don't know how much better I can explain why the VGA port is covered.

To put it the only other way I know of...

The motherboard that has the VGA port is used in many other model HP PC's.

You should have bought a PC that did not come with a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card and the i5-14400F processor.

You can use the VGA port in your PC, if you remove the Nvidia graphics card, remove the  i5-14400F processor and install an i5-14400 processor (no 'F) which supports the motherboard's onboard Intel graphics adapter via the ports on the motherboard.

IMHO, it would make no sense to do that just to be able to use the VGA port.

You should have bought a PC like this--modern, inexpensive, no graphics card and a VGA port.
