Product: HP Pavilion 500-281
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I own a  HP Pavilion 500-281 and like most people have said it has a terrible video/graphics card,  my question is:  What kind of video card is compatible with it?  and what else would be required to upgrade it to suit the new video card?  I'm looking for at least 1gb for video since most of the games I want run between 256mb to 1gb.

 

I intend to play games such and Elder Scrolls V, DOOM, and a few Total War games.

Hi

 

Your PC has good stuff to upgrade the graphics card.

 

The good stuff are:

 

1. You have a UEFI BIOS

 

2. You have a 300 watt power supply.

 

3. You have a PCIe x16 3.0 PCIe slot for a newer graphics card.

 

The baseline graphics card that will work with your components is an Nvidia GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti. Manufacturer's to check out are MSI, EVGA, ASUS, Zotac, Gigabyte, and others.

 

If you want more beef you will have to upgrade the power supply.
