Yesterday, October 27th, 2022, I picked up an OMEN 45L which I had purchased online last Sunday.

I was surprised, to say the least, to notice the 1-year warranty period had started on November 26, 2021 already! My warranty will run out on December 25, 2022, according to HP.

My guess is the warranty somehow started counting down during a test in the factory, instead of when it was first turned on by the customer. I've contacted HP via WhatsApp, and am awaiting a fix.

The peculiar thing is that a quick Oogle revealed to me that this apparently has happened to (quite) some others as well, to the extent that some even had an expired warranty on the moment they first turned on their brand-new PC...

Has anyone else experienced this? How are your experiences with HP customer service when it comes to fixing this?

hi

yes, it happens regularly
it can be almost expired, if bought in a shop, while the computer is already out for a long time

for the resolution, it goes more or less well, sometimes it takes a long time, and sometimes quite fast
remember to register the computer, in the support if not already done
