Hello, I've been using my Omen 880-150t desktop for about a year now.

I'm very satisfied overall but would like to improve a bit on the thermals. The liquid cooled CPU easily reaches mid 40s and the RTX 2080 ti reaches mid 70s quite frequently, and I think it partially has to do with the airflow of the casing. Tthere's really not much airflow - very minimal intake from front, top, sides, or the bottom, and only one case fan blowing out through the CPU cooler's radiator in the back.

Most commercially available cases would give you more ventilation or at least places to install more fans, but I just don't see it in the casing for 880. Does anyone know any way to improve the airflow or thermals on this unit (aside from opening up the side panel and blowing a fan into it - I don't think I can handle the dust build up)

@Brian412 , welcome to the forum.

Actually, your temperatures are not that bad.  The Tjunction for the CPU is 100C and the max temperature for the GPU a 89C.

CPU: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/126687/intel-core-i5-8400-processor-9m-cache-up...

GPU: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/rtx-2080-ti/#:~:text=The%20NVIDIA%20%C2%AE%20GeF....

If the temps get too high there are thermal settings that will kick-in.

I fully understand your concern, but at this point you should be fine.  I know that it is difficult to add cooling to smaller mid-size cases.

I had a 880-160se (i7-8700K OC'd to 5 GHz) with the same case and the temps ran about the same as yours.  I never did have any problems.

You are lucky only getting 70s. A lot of people average 85+. Sadly this is the bad cooling HP gives everyone. The best way to fix this would be to upgrade to a better case. There isn’t much you can do with the poor case they give you.

Also yes 70 isn’t bad, but it is nowhere near great either.
