Pavilion Gaming Desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

No display shows when I turn on the pc after I’ve replaced the cpu. Anything I could’ve unplugged accidentally? I’m pretty sure I followed the steps correctly 😕

@TaterTotz , welcome to the forum.

What is the full model or product number of the computer? I need this information to review the specifications of it. Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information. Here is a guide to help you find it:  https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07555

Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer:  https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-gaming-690-0000-pc-series/19769765/model/22909853/d...

Did you use one of the processors in the section titled "Processor/Processor upgrade information"?  If not, which one did you use?

I got the AMD Ryzen 9 3900x. I called hp and asked if it was compatible with my Pavilion and they said yeah so..

HP has their motherboard made to their specifications.  Therefore, they are not necessarily the same as a retail board.  I have two concerns about the Ryzen 9 3900X being compatible with your motherboard: 1) it has 12 cores and all of the others on the list are 8, 6 or 4 cores and 2) the TDP for those in the compatible list is 65W.  The 3900X is TDP 105W.  See the specifications for it from AMD:  https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-9-3900x  Click on the "Specifications" tab to see them.  It just may be that the board is not designed for these specifications.  These appear to me to be some red flags.  Other than these two things, I can't figure out what could cause your problem.
