Your machine is one of the following machines

          https://support.hp.com/au-en/product/product-specs/hp-pavilion-gaming-desktop-pc-tg01-2000a/model/21...

For example  :       HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2029 PC

They use SAME Erica6 motherboard.

What do you have now. From the list,

  (1) one machine has 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA HDD and

  (2) one machine has  256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD

For machine 1, you can add 1B or 2TB of M.2 NVMe to your machine for example

                  Samsung 960 evo 1tb

For machine 2, you can add 1TB or 2TB of normal mechanical HDD for example

                 BarraCuda 3.5" Hard Drive

Regards.

I have a 476g gb storage on mine. It's not a terabyte, nor is it 256.

Is your machine on the list above ? What is it ?

Most likely it has 512GB of M.2 NVMe SSD . For machine 2, you can add 1TB or 2TB of normal mechanical HDD for example

                 BarraCuda 3.5" Hard Drive
