One of the cooling fans have been acting up for a while now. It makes this annoying noise whenever it is on. I want a replacement for that one fan and I need it to be genuine, so I am asking where I can find one.

Hi @Ibit

I would hit the chassis fan (if applicable) and CPU fan with compressed air if you are going to disassemble the Laptop.

I can only suggest doing a search for a replacement fan using the HP fan part number.

HP Part Surfer may have a replacement fan purchase option if you input the specific HP Product Number for your PC.

Hey, thanks for replying to my request! I have another follow-up question, can you tell me where exactly can I find the part numbers. I am not informed in fixing computers. Again thanks you very much for your help.

HI @Ibit

My pleasure.

15-Fa0xxx is a generic product number that applies to many different PCs in that product group. You need a specific product number such as 15-Fa0155 or 15-Fa008n.

Then use the HP Part Surfer link in my previous post and the specific HP product number to check for your PC's component list of part numbers.

The fan part numbers should be listed at HP Part Surfer.

If you can't get fan part numbers at Part Surfer you should be able to get fan part numbers after disassembling the Laptop.

I don't know how easy it will be to purchase the fans you need if HP Part Surfer does not have a purchase option. Maybe a local PC Tech can get the fans if you can't find an online seller.

I am not aware of any other method to get the part numbers you need.

Regards
