pavilion P6000 Series

Hey.  Thinking of upgrading my graphic card to this one 

Asus GeForce GTX 1060 Dual OC 2xHDMI 2xDP 6GB

, will my current motherboard work with it or do i have to buy a new one? H-Alpinia-RS780L-uATX (Alpinia) 

 

pc is HP Pavilion P6000 Series

The GTX 1060 is not compatible with your motherboard.  It requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a Legacy/standard BIOS.  The BIOS can't be upgraded to UEFI.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  The last video cards not to require UEFI are the GTX 660/670 series.

 

Your best option is to choose a manufacturer and contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your system.  This will save you time, frustrations and money.

What is the actual model or product number of the computer?  There are several models in the P6000 series.  I need the model to review the specs.  Your link is not valid.

Basically you will have to swap out almost everything in the case and if you could, its not worth it.

You're better off buying a new pc that already has the hardware you need to play the games you want.
