OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-244
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got a Nvidia RTX 3060 (not Ti) graphics card for my Omen 870-244, but I am unable to get it to work. The card is seated in the slot properly, and the fans turn on, so I know it's getting power, but all I get is a "Signal Not Detected" on my monitor. I also upgraded to a 700w PSU, so there's plenty of power for the card. Both the new card and the old GTX 1070 were plugged into the monitor via the DP, so that's not the issue.

I had believed the 3060 would work in my computer since, according to what I've read, the 3070 Ti, will, which is a newer, more powerful card. The 3070 Ti only has 8GB of vram whereas the 3060 has 12, but would that matter? I have 32GB of ram on my system and an additional 4T hard drive, but everything else is what it came with.

Disregard the above post. I was able to get it to work. I pulled out the card and booted into my computer using the motherboard's integrated graphics. Then I put the card back in, and it worked. It's possible that the card wasn't seated right after all, though it looked and felt like it was. The problem with the card I got (MSI brand) is that it has a thick plastic cover over the underside, covering the circuit board, which results in the card butting right up against the clips for the ram. Because of this, it's a challenge getting it in correctly. I thought that I had but maybe not. Or perhaps, for some odd reason, switching to the integrated graphics first did the trick.
