Hey Guys,

Will this 16GB RAM fit my Omen Obelisk? I've got two extra DIM slots and I want to use them.

Hello again @Coffee2222

Technically it should run ok. The Shire motherboard is setup with 4 mem slots using dual channel.

As an extra measure, I like to install all sticks that match and have the same timings. So I would run a tool like CPUz or Speccy and take a look at the frequencies of the existing ram and match the other two.

The above rams timings you linked are DDR4-2666 CL16  16-18-18 @1.2V

interesting thanks. I will run the test, but physically they will plug in okay? Like number of pins?

Your model uses DDR4  and the Kingston ram you pointed to is also DDR4, so yes it will physically fit.

Photoray, for the Shire motherboard, if using 2 sticks of 16 gig ram, which slots do I put them in?

I currently put them in Dimm1 and Dimm3, I do not see different colors and can not find any information on this.

Thanks in advance

Generally the rule of thumb is to start at the one closest to the CPU.

IF you are not experiencing problems, you should be good.

I dont find any actual documentation on the slots either.
