@HaoLy

Is the computer brand new or been used yet? If brand new,  did you let it connect to the internet first to install updates and activate first?

IF a computer has been activated online by connecting to the internet, Windows will activate itself if you clean install and skip entering the key during installation. It will auto activate online.

It will help me if you will answer my questions, then I can help you better.

So you added an new M.2 drive, correct?

How are you installing Windows to it? Are you using the Microsoft Media Tool or are you using the HP Recovery USB drive you should have made first?

You would need to disconnect the M.2 drive and reconnect your HDD and boot to windows.

The HP Recovery creation tool in under HP Help and Support from the Start button.

That would probably be easiest to use.

It the other drive is dead, you can use the Microsoft ISO. When it asks for a key, choose to skip it and let it continue installing.

When it connects to the internet, it will self activate.

You should install the ISO onto the SSD with the HDD disconnected first.

Leave the HDD disconnected and boot up with the SSD. It will be seen.

Then reconnect the HDD and wipe it and use it for storage.

You're not understanding what I said.

You need to disconnect the HDD Hard drive first.

Then, reinstall Windows to the SSD and it will set up the partitions properly.

Do this first, then get back to me. Tell me how it goes.
