HP Omen 880-108no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I ordered a new motherboard and case for my HP Omen 880. I assume I have to reinstall Windows 10 afterwards, but I am a bit concerned about how my USB-stick with the Windows 10-installation (which I I created with the preinstalled HP-helper utilities once) is about to "react". I guess the motherboard itself is what identifies the HP Omen as a HP Omen, so this is then basically no HP Omen anymore (changed HDD, GPU, power supply as well).

Hence: how would I install my Windows 10-license or use my Windows 10-key, that came with the original HP Omen 880, on my very-hard-modified system?

Best regards,

Christoph

@chrney,

Your WIN 10 digital license is linked to the original motherboard.   You will have to purchase a "new" retail WIN 10.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..
