Product: Obelisk 875-1xxx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I want to start off, this is my first PC and I am new to the PC world... Excuse my inability to understand some of these concepts.
I have been scouring the web for an answer, I bought an obelisk gaming pre built PC with these specs:
(Omen Obelisk 875-1xxx)
NVIDIA GTX 2070 super
Hyper Fury X ddr4 2666mhz RAM (2x8gig)
I had severe issues playing Escape From Tarkov ( a very demanding game on RAM/GPU/CPU) I found out that my 16 gig RAM was being maxed out at 98-99% and had severe loading issues getting into matches.
I decided to spend a couple hundred dollars to upgrade the RAM, i got Corsair Vengeance Pro RBG DDR4 3600MHZ (4x8gig)
But when I booted and attempted to get XMP enabled so i could get 3600mhz speeds, i have found 0 options on getting XMP enabled. It is clocked at i think 2133mhz at default. I used Intel Extreme Tuning Utility to enable the XMP profile found on my RAM (the profile that loads 3600mhz) and when I restarted I got 3 long beeps and 2 short beeps, a few power cycles, then it gave me an error regarding an "unwarranted" change to the BIOS and it said it needed to reset back to default. Restarted the PC to have Intel Extreme Tuning tell me the XMP profile wasn't able to be changed and to try again. Same thing happens every time.
I am struggling to find a way to run my upgraded ram past 2133mhz, and besides completely upgrading the motherboard (which should not be an issue on a 5 week old PC) I am at a loss for words. I am past my refund date on the PC, so I have to keep it. It was sold to me by Best Buy and the guy behind the counter explained it is very easily upgrade-able, so I am wondering if this is true or not.
Can anyone help me?
