what would be the best way to upgrade my storage

 

my system  Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop TG02-0xxx

Baseboard HP 89B5 A (SMVB)
has two expansion slots two M.2 one M.2 socket 1, key A and One M.2 socket 3. Key M

currently has 512 GB  Want to add at least a TB SSD if possible 2TB

Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

Your PC has a drive cage attached to the chassis. HP even provides a SATA power cable and your MB may have a spare SATA data cable ready to go.

 

You can add a 2.5 inch SATA SSD, in any capacity you want, to your PC.

 

Or you could swap in a higher capacity M.2 NVME SSD to replace the 512 GB SSD installed at the factory. You would have to clone the current operating system from the 512 GB SSD to the new SSD.

 

I use 2.5 Inch SATA SSDs as second drives on most of my PC builds. The SATA SSDs are very fast and are great for storing files or data.
