@prestonk, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HDMI Port Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HDMI port is not working and your monitor is being detected but is displaying a black screen, here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Cable Connection:

  • Ensure that the HDMI cable is properly plugged into both the monitor and the device.
  • Try using different HDMI ports on both the monitor and the device, if available.

Test Different Cables:

  • Since you already used multiple HDMI cords, make sure they are functioning correctly with other devices to rule out defective cables.

Update Graphics Driver:

  • Update the graphics driver on your computer. You can find the latest drivers on the manufacturer's website or use the device manager to update them.

Check Monitor Input Settings:

  • Ensure that your monitor's input settings are set to the correct HDMI input. This can typically be done using the monitor's on-screen display (OSD) menu.

Adjust Screen Resolution:

  • Check and adjust the screen resolution settings on your computer. Sometimes, incorrect video output resolutions can cause display issues.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
