I just purchased this machine which has the RTX 2080 graphics installed. It’s equipped with a 500 watt ps which superficially seems inadequate since the cpu and GPUs maximally consume 315 watts and of course that figure excludes power drawn from the motherboard, SDD, HDD, wireless and the power supply itself.
Before I open the carton and commit to it I’d to know from those with experience whether:
a) the power supply will be sufficient?
b) the system fan noise, including both case and GPUs fans, is excessive (I’m assuming that the fans will work longer and harder to compensate in part for the extra heat stress of an overworked power supply)

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
The 500 watt PSU will be okay because HP has probably modified the factory installed 2080. HP assiduously specs all components so the end user has a satisfying ownership experience.
Other retail 2080 card manufacturers recommend a 650 watt PSU. You might have stability problems running a retail 2080 or a retail 2080 Ti unless you upgraded the PSU.
I have no idea how loud the system is at idle, under load, or if the factory cooling solution will keep thermals under control.
Have you checked for any online reviews. Or maybe someone in this forum with hands on experience with this product can provide some insight.
