HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0002nl

Hello, i've been looking to buy a new GPU for my pc, possibly an Asus Dual NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, but I don't know if it's compatible with my motherboard/PC in general (I think my motherboard is an HP 8433), allI know is that it definitely won't fit in the case and i'll have to buy a new one

I heard someone had my same question and they got told that there would've been issues with power consumption but I'm not sure it was the same desktop as mine

@UnPino,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0002nl (4PP75EA), is indeed fitted with the Sunflower motherboard (SSID: 8433), and according to HP's specs, is powered by a 310-watt power supply -please verify.

In order to power a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 3060 powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable such as this model: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/asus-dual-rtx-3060-oc.b8778, you will have to upgrade your power supply to a 500-watt power supply, with part number: L05757-800.

I would consider getting a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060 powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, such as this model: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/asus-dual-rtx-4060-v2-oc.b11456, which will also not only fit in your desktop, but can be powered by a 400-watt power supply, with part number: L04618-800.

In addition, an RTX 4060 performs substantially better: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-4060-vs-Nvidia-RTX-3060/4150vs4105, has a significantly lower TDP (115-watt) than an RTX 3060 (170-watt), which means it generates less heat, important to keep temps down in your case.

Kind Regards,
