Hi there, ive tried everything possible ive plugged my headset into the fron and back neither worked i bought a mic splitter it didnt work with that either im really struggling to get my mic to work. my cousin has same pc she uses a splitter but mine doesnt we have same pc i feel like its something easy but not onbious to me as im not tech wiz. any help apprechiated because i contacted windows they said its a driver issue? to contact hp. i bought this pc brand new 4 weeks ago but i dont think it was brand new looking at it.

Your PC is not brand new. This PC was released for sale back in 2016.

 

Having a front and back headset problem could be an audio driver issue.

 

What operating system are you using? You could try installing newer audio drivers at this Site using the correct operating system.

 

Check Device Manager in Control Panel for an audio driver issue. Right click on the audio driver. Try uninstalling or updating the current driver. 

 

You may have an audio chipset problem if no audio driver is listed. Maybe both audio in ports have failed, very unusual but possible.

 

Back up data. Reinstall the operating system to indicate or eliminate a hardware problem.

 

Try your headset using your cousins' PC to verify the device works.
