The omen is unresponsive, the fan is running. I hold power button for 20 seconds but does not turn off. Is there a safe way to turn off? Any idea why this is happening? Thanks

Hi,

I would disconnect AC power (and depress the power switch for about 20 seconds), then connect to AC power and start the PC to see what happens. A hardware problem may be indicated if the PC will not POST and you cannot get to the UEFI startup screen, tap "ESC" at system startup.

Possible causes could be component failure. How long have you been using W11? This could be an issue if hardware is good.

What state was the PC in prior to this happening? (the PC was running or sleeping and abruptly shut down exhibiting the symptoms you describe, you did a Microsoft or HP update, you started the PC and experienced this symptom).

Regards
