I have owned an hp omen 15 since august 2020 and i have only started experiencing this problem around December of 2020 for a while until around January of 2021, then it got solved but recently it occurred again much worse. Sometimes i would be gaming playing games like call of duty or rocket league when my framerate suddenly drops from like 300 fps to 10 fps and the whole laptop takes about 4 x the time it usually takes to do anything, even outside the game, even the mouse cursor is slow. i have researched a lot about this problem now and i have tried everything and nothing worked. If you have any advice outside of updating the BIOS, updating the graphics driver, clearing space on Windows C: drive then please let me know. any help is appreciated.

Hi@jakref, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Apologize for the issue with the display. We understand it's a notebook lets try a few troubleshooting steps to fix the issue.
Check for BIOS update?
Tried Adding the game to High performances in the Nivida control panel?
Download GEFORCE EXPERIENCE updates the gaming drivers.
Turn on Game Mode. Game Mode is a new feature in Windows 10 Update that improves gaming performance by limiting background processes and programs from using system resources while a game is running.
Press the Windows key and G to open the Game bar.
In the game bar, click Settings.
Click the check box next to the game title to enable Game Mode for that game.
Plug notebook PCs into an AC adapter to give the graphics card more power.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
