So I just want to know why the upgrades for the pavillion Tg01 are so bad. Hp makes all of these different gpu coolers for the gtx 1660, rtx 2060 and 2060 super, and finally the rtx 3060 and the 3060 ti and the radeon rx 5500. (mine is dead because of cooling issues with a single fan output and a single fan gpu cooler)
i have a tg01 and i have really come to hate it because i cant do much of anything. The 400 watt power supply is very limiting. The fact that there is only a 8 pin (6+2) is kind of annoying, and people say you can upgrade to a 2060s or a 3050 but thats not possible because of the power supply output. I tried a GTX 1660 Super, an it would not run with the motherboard. I also tried a RX 6500 XT and it didnt work either. From all the research that i have done, the pavilion tg01 could only run a GTX 1060 3GB, and other old and low end cards like it. The CPU and GPU combo is really bad, I say that because a ryzen 3 4300g or 3 5300g with a radeon rx 5500 is really bad because there is a 30% bottleneck on the GPU to the CPU. I really havent seen any good upgrades for these computers because there really isn't any good upgrades for them. I've seen a Lenovo Legion Tower 5 go for less than one of these and it has better upgrades, and also it is just better value. For Example Lenovo Legion Tower 5 with ryzen 7 5800 and a rtx 3060 - 1400 Hp Pavilion tg01 with ryzen 5 5600g with a 3060 ti - 1400. I bring this up because the Lenovo has also 1512 Gb of storage, the pavilion has 512. What im trying to say is the Erica 4 motherboard and back are just not able to have anything better than a 1060 3gb because of the power supply and others say you can put 2060 or a 2070 in the computer but you cant, they take to much power. Also heres something to bring up, why is 3200 mhz ram running at 2333. Is this something that this company is doing to bottleneck the cpu so the gpu bottleneck isn't that bad? The final thing, I will never own another Hp prebuilt again because of all of the problems im talking about. I have an Erica 3 motherboard and I don't what to say about it, because it's that bad. Also another thing is, the only thing of even some value in the case is the case and the Cpu. I want to put my Ryzen 3 4300g in a good motherboard, but its going to be on the erica 3 for the rest of its time.
