Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop freezes between 2 months so I dediced to upgrade my RAM because as we all know, this laptop comes with 8 GB RAM (2x4GB) and system reserve 2.1GB of them, so I decided to buy another 8GB and replace one of those 4GB. I did this, now having 12 GB RAM but 8.8GB of them is hardware reserved. Why? Did I paid 1000$ just to stuck with a max of 5.9 GB RAM usable?

If you are going to tell me to uncheck de maximum memory in msconfig, I did it already, it was unchecked, but I still can use just 3.4 GB out of 12GB. Please help me with this, the situation is very unsatisified and I am quite frustrated, it ain't a 100$ laptop to exepct nothing from it.

Well, I found out that the current RAMs have 1.2V, while the one which I replaced a 4GB has 1.35V, so it was incompatible with the actaul ones. I'll buy a full kit of 16GB and there won`t be any problems. Sorry for wasting your time, you can close the thread, problem sovled.

hello @Iulian0599

Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do about it. Its what AMD has done with memory allocation. They are claiming its reserved for Microsoft ReadyPlay. There is no bios update to fix it either.

Yet another reason I only go with Intel.

Im sorry.
