I had a lot of issues with my notebook for month and I tried plenty of solutions but never solved this issue for a long time. While playing games (or do other heavy tasks) the Notebook freezes, black or bluescreen (watchclock timeout) appears, but most of the time it just frezzes and the sound starting to stutter...

Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz

RAM: 16 GB DDR5-Ram with 4.800 MHz (2x8 GB)

Memory: PCIe® Gen 4.0 x4 NVMe™ TLC M.2-512-GB-Solid-State-drive

integrated graphic: Intel Iris Xe Graphics

separated graphic: NVidea Geforce RTX 3050Ti 4GB

Display: 144Hz

PSU: 200 W Smart power supply

_Temp_:

normal workmode: approx. 50 to 65 degrees Celcius

While benchmark/gaming: almost 80 degrees Celcius

_List of Stuff I tried_:

reinstalling games

sfc /scannow

Clean PC refresh (cannot go back to Win. 10 because Win. 11 was the first system software on this PC

clean restart

Update all drivers from the HP website and Nvidea website, including BIOS

Update Windows

Set the usage of cores down (42 to 39) using the Intel XTU application

gameinput

Verify Hardware Health

  • Run HP Diagnostics: Use the HP Hardware Diagnostics Tool to test RAM, SSD, and GPU for errors.
  • Check PSU and Power Settings: Ensure the 200W PSU is providing consistent power during gaming or heavy tasks. If possible, try a different compatible power adapter to rule out a failing PSU.
  • Thermal Paste and Cooling: If temperatures hit 80°C frequently, it might throttle performance. Consider reapplying thermal paste to the CPU/GPU and ensure fans and heatsinks are dust-free.
  • Test RAM Modules: Run a memory diagnostic tool like MemTest86 to rule out defective RAM. You can also test by removing one stick of RAM at a time and checking for stability.

Update Specific Drivers/Settings

  • NVIDIA GPU Driver: Install a "Studio Driver" from NVIDIA if you're using the "Game Ready Driver." Studio Drivers are generally more stable for gaming.
  • Intel Management Engine: Update or reinstall the Intel Management Engine Interface (IMEI) from HP's support page for your model.

  • Check VRM Stability: Use tools like HWInfo to monitor Voltage Regulator Module (VRM) temperatures and GPU/CPU power delivery under load.

Software Conflicts

  • Clean Boot: Perform a clean boot by disabling all non-Microsoft startup services and programs. Then, test if the issue persists.
  • Event Viewer: Open Event Viewer (Win + X → Event Viewer) and look for critical errors or warnings (Kernel-Power, WHEA errors, etc.) to identify potential culprits.
  • Game-Specific Fixes: For games, try disabling overlays like NVIDIA GeForce Experience or Discord, as they may conflict.

Stress Testing and Monitoring
