Solved!

Application freezes for a second while returning back to it

HP Recommended
HP Pavillion 15-EC0027AX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

While using performance applications like Blender, when laptop is left idle for 5-10 seconds and then returning back to Blender will freeze Blender for 2-3 seconds. After that application works fine. I have no problem if i use Blender continuously. I have high performance power plan, and using while charger plugged in.

I think AMD Ryzen 5 is shutting down cores temporarily for saving power when laptop is idle, but is taking time to turn them on while working.

The issue was resolved by changing graphic card settings. Under power management mode option of graphic card (NVidia control panel Manage 3D settings), I chose "prefer maximum performance".

@yogeshk01, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Do you experience the issue only with the Blender app?

This could be an application-specific issue.

For now, Update the BIOS

Click here to download the latest version.

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
