HP Pavilion Gaming 15 dk-1003nu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey, I’ve got an HP Pavilion 15 Gaming laptop. The exact model is dk-1003nu. There is a problem with the motherboard and it has to be replaced. I prefer to do this instead of buying a new laptop. Mine has an i5 and a gtx1650 ti and I want to know can I replace it with the motherboard of another dk-10 series or any other for example the dk-1003ne because it has a better cpu and gpu. What’s the best spec motherboard that will fit in the laptop? Or how can I find out which motherboards are compatible but have better specs than mine. Thanks in advance!

They are partly compatible or compatible depending on how do you look at them when saying compatible. Normally a series has few system boards, each system board contents

  • CPU & iGPU
  • GPU (if applicable)
  • RAM (if on board RAM)
  • Windows license (or no Windows)

Because all above components are ON ONE piece of hardware.

Regards.

When I say compatible I mean will it fit in the laptop (considering size, shape, port layout), will the system accept it as a component, will everything function properly, etc. The exact question is can I replace my motherboard with one that is not for my exact model, for example the one for dk-1003ne, or any other that has better cpu and gpu than the ones I mentioned above (for the ram I know is not soldered in the board)
