Welcome to the HP support community.

Windows Audio is a Windows service that manages audio for Windows-based programs. If at all this service is stopped due to any reason, audio devices will not function properly.
To fix audio services, open the run command and launch services.msc. -
In the services window search for Windows Audio and right-click on it to select Start to start the audio service.
-
And ensure the Startup Type is set to Automatic.
- Click Apply and OK.
Restart the computer and check if it works.
If the issue persists, try the steps mention on this link: Click here.
I hope that helps.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

i downlaoded it but it says no update, i'am up to date, further my widnows update is also up to date, also i happen to have the more updated version of hp assistant
what i tried is to install the driver for sound from my notebook driver support page on hp, it says that it's not supported as my widnwos is v2004 while that sound driver is for v1903 , and microsoft support did mentioed that it's a driver issue and i'am really out of option here, i wish if this problem get resolved fast because the problem is really frasturating

This is definitely a driver issue and I'm sure this issue will be addressed in the next update
If you want it resolved as of now the only option is a Reset. Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289

@KrazyToad Hi, as mentioed in hp driver , last update was May 10 -2019 which is more than 1 and a half year, in what chances will i be reciving an update for my problem, is it possible to report my issue so they can push up a driver update for my computer model, or possible to check if thier is a newer update which is complitable with my notebook model
i also want to clarefy that when u use a headphone there is no issue what so ever, so i thnik i came to see that (B & O software) which disable it self when i plug in a headset , is the issue, you would say to uninstall it but there s a BIG diffrence in aduio quality between 2, so it might get fixed if you would help me updating the program with it's driver

I will pass on this Feedback and since there hasn't been any HP driver update since last year, most probably the required updates will be included in the coming Microsoft updates

Please do a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.
(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp104001-104500/sp104405.exe
(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.
Regards.
