Microsoft Windows 11

After listening to the USB connect/disconnect sound every 10 seconds for a week, my son brought me his computer to try to stop the sounds.  I discovered that I needed to disable the USB 3.0 Hub in the Device Manager to stop the horrid sounds (and thereby disable USB).

I found a new BIOS on the Support site, and gave it a whirl.   Upgrading was painfully slow - and each time I upgrade, it gets slower (30+ minutes to flash now, watching each block   I've even downgraded back (using the BIOS recovery Windows-B+Power trick), but the BIOS is super-slow.  Even getting to the BIOS config screen (F10), navigating around the screen is super-slow and requires patience.

Booting is also slow (2-3 minutes of waiting), but once the Windows start screen begins, the system is back to full speed.

Thus, it's obvious that something is wrong in the BIOS -- it is running at 2% of its ability, so updates are slow, as are reads when the system is in the POST process.

Meanwhile, the USB Hub issue continues to occur in Win11 despite attempts at uninstalling, reinstalling, new device discovery, and so on.   It's hard to tell whether these two issues are related.

I even tried replacing the NVME disk with the original one (unaltered) and it's still slow, so this has nothing to do with Windows.

Curious if anyone else has had this problem, or if I'm going to need to make a warranty claim.
