Hp Laptop 15-bw0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Couple of weeks ago I had an issue on my battery after a thunderstorm, maybe the thunder did it.

I ordered through Amazon a new one, not the original but is 100% compatible, and it doesn’t go over 6% of charge. I tried everything, to uninstall and reinstall drivers battery, to restore charging settings, checked the voltage of the battery, and at the end restore to factory settings the laptop, but it doesn’t go over 6%. After all of this I thought could be the new battery not working properly, so I sent it back and ordered a new one, tried everything again, but still here we are, no more than 6%. Someone got any suggestions?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
  • 2. Expand batteries.
  • 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
  • 4. Shut down the computer.
  • 5. Disconnect the charger.
  • 6. Remove the battery. (not for sealed battery)
  • 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
  • 8. Insert the battery only. (not for sealed battery)
  • 9. Attempt to turn the battery on.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
