HP Omen 17t-w200
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I noticed a couple months ago that my fingerpad wasn't clicking like it used to and thought it had broken but then I realized that it's because there is a bulge that is gradually expanding on the side of my HP Omen.  I'm worried that if it continues to expand it will further damage the laptop.

Hello @Jlandon13

That is an issue with these newer designed internal batteries now. You can open the case and remove the battery or even replace it with a third party version. HP doesnt sell them unfortunately. You can remove it and just use the AC adapter to run with, it wont hurt to leave the battery out. Better than having the battery start leaking.

That particular case is a little delicate because of the little plastic tabs that click together inside. You need to use a spudger or plastic card to separate them.

Your manual will give you an idea of how its put together... http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05260118

I appreciate it, @Photoray002

I'll try to remove the battery this week and run on the cord until I can get a replacement!  Cheers
