I’m writing this out of frustration with the way HP Support is handling my warranty claim.
Here are my product details:
Product No: CND3291P77
Serial No: >Do not include the product serial number or any private information<
Part Number: M41711-005
Part Description: SKO-BATT 6C83Wh 3.59Ah LI WK06083XL-PL
According to HP’s own documentation and support policy, a non-customer-replaceable battery carries the same warranty as the notebook itself. The warranty should match the hardware warranty — up to 3 years — and can also be extended through an HP Care Pack if applicable.
However, HP Support is insisting that the battery warranty is only 1 year, which directly contradicts HP’s stated policy for non-user-replaceable batteries.
It’s very disappointing to see this inconsistency in HP’s after-sales support. If the official policy clearly says 3 years (matching the hardware), why is the support center denying it?
Please review this case and clarify why a non-replaceable, embedded battery is being limited to a 1-year warranty when it should follow the 3-year hardware warranty as per HP’s own terms.
HP really needs to address this misinformation within their support channels.
