Black tape in mobo replacement

Maybe my first pic wasnt clear cuz thermal paste are suppose to be like sponges this isn't but if it is what it's name as in what do I type to get this cuz I haven't found anything like this at all☹️Also is there a need for replacing this I'm still confused about it since it's have small holes🤔and if I don't what happen?

If there isn't any damage, small holes shouldn't matter. 

I would peel the material back, being careful not to damage it, inspect it and replace it if no damage is found.

I still don't what it's name is that's why I came here to find out info about it cuz this is the only thing I haven't seen online you keep calling it a thermal pad material insearched and got only the squishy things online but I don't think they are the same considering the stark difference ☹️

Now that you have shown me an image in a better scale, I can see that it is indeed only  tape.

Carefully pull it back to look for damage. 

Put it back in position

Inspect your work before closing it up again.

Put the laptop back together.

Plug in the power adapter and power it on.

Power it on and boot to Windows

 ok now that you figured that can you tell me the name of this 😁I want to remove it cuz there's a very tiny slit of thermal paste on the sides and also what's the purpose for both are they only for decoration?🤔

Can you zoom the image out. When all I see is a very small part of an image it is difficult to understand what a part is in terms of the big picture. The pink bits are thermal pads.

 ok here's the whole thing also maybe I should mention this idk if it's imp there wasn't a black thing like the one on the cpu.The GPU had nothing like this
