HP 15-dc1003nj
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I purchased a brand new HP OMEN 15 Laptop (HP 15-dc1003nj) and turned it on today for the first time.

From the first moment Windows started up, the computer's fans are very loud, work incessantly,
and the GPU/CPU temperature values are higher than100F when I checked in the OMEN Command Center.
Updating Windows and the computer's BIOS and NVIDIA's drivers to the latest versions did not solve the problem.
Neither did switching performance to "Comfort" mode. The fans keep running at high speend even when the computer is idle, and I have nothing installed on this PC (again, brand new). I suspect it might be a hardware defect, but am not sure.

I have not found any clear solutions to similar problems on HP forums, your advise on how to solve or diagnose this issue will be greatly appreciated. My computer's model is HP 15-dc1003nj running Windows 10 Home 64-bit.

Thanks in advance,

Sharonis

Hello @Sharonis2020

Go into the Bios and reset it.

Rapidly tap F10 at power-on until the bios appears.

F10 should be the shortcut to reset. F10 again to save and exit.

It will tell you the options at the bottom.

IF that does not work, Two options.

You can try reinstalling Windows to see if it solves the issue.

You can use the HP Cloud recovery... https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06162205  or use the generic version of the MS installer.

Or

Return the laptop for another one. If you purchased from a walk in store, this would be faster than trying to go through Warranty, considering its brand new.

Let me know if you need further help.
