My brand new omen 17 webcam is horribly grainy out of the box. My 10 yr old student £300 hp laptop is better quality.
I've done the following already:
1. Installed all window and hp updates
2. Lowered the 720p video frame rate 0.3 640 x 480
3. Checked the physical lens
4. Uninstalled the device from device manager and reinstalled it
5. Performed use in a mix of lighting conditions
I'm now wondering if this is a hardware issue and i should send the laptop in for inspection.
I attach 3 images. which i hope you are able to view here - they are showing as warning triangles and i dont know why on my browser - The first 2 grainy images are screen shots of the quality my webcam produces and the last bright cleaner, clearer image is a screen grab from a youtube review of the omen 17's webcam.
Please advise
cheers for your help

Like all cameras, it needs better light for objects. Please give your face more light, you should get better images.
Regards.

No improvement - could someone advise - do i need to download and install all the indicated drivers listed on this page:
https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/omen-by-hp-17-an000-laptop-pc/15551440
I've been advised to make sure i'm upto date with all my drivers but the ones listed here are not appearing in my auto-update lists.
If the answer is yes - install these drivers - then do i ignore older ones or install them in a specific order ?
cheers sp
