After doing some updates the fn key and the brightness keys (f1 and f2) do not seem to work. There is no brightness adjustments in the settings menu and i cannot fix the issue. Before the updates it was working fine

If monitor shows as other monitor on device manager, it happens.

I have the same problem, but I fixed finally.

On device manager, delete monitor until it shows as general pnp monitor.

And you can adjust brightness.

good luck.
