Broken hinge on my 17 inch omen laptop

I have a broken hinge on the right side of my laptop. You would think HP could make a reliable hinge system for their laptops. The hinge on a $1700 laptop that almost never leaves the house should not be broke whether it’s a year old or 10 years old. Can you even still get a new case to replace the damaged hinge assembly with and how ridiculously expensive will it be to replace it? I guess I’m just a little frustrated. The computer has been a great computer and the computing function still works marvelously. But I guess it’s just going in the trash because I can open and close it. Is HP going to step up to the plate And help people out with this poor hinge design?
