Hi @ogulhan,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I completely understand how frustrating it must be to have your laptop camera not working, especially when you rely on it for meetings. Let’s figure out what’s going on and get it working again.

To help narrow down the issue, could you clarify a few things?

  • Does the camera show up in Device Manager under Imaging Devices or Cameras? If not, does it appear under Other devices with a yellow warning sign?
  • When you open the Camera app in Windows, does it give an error message or just a black screen?
  • Have you checked if the camera privacy shutter (if your model has one) is open?
  • Does Zoom detect the camera under Video Settings, or does it say "No camera found"?

Troubleshooting steps to try:

  1. Check for a physical shutter or camera kill switch – Some HP laptops have a privacy shutter or a function key (F8 or F10) to disable the camera. Make sure it’s open or turned on.
  2. Enable the camera in Windows Settings – Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera and ensure that camera access is enabled.
  3. Check Device Manager – Press Win + X, click Device Manager, expand Imaging Devices or Cameras, and check if the camera is listed. If it's there, right-click and select Update driver or Uninstall device, then restart the laptop.
  4. Run Windows Troubleshooter – Go to Settings > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters > Camera and run the built-in fix.
  5. Test on another app – Open the Camera app or try Microsoft Teams to see if the issue is specific to Zoom.
  6. Check the BIOS settings – Restart your laptop and enter BIOS (press F10 at startup). Look for an option related to the integrated camera and make sure it's enabled.

Let me know what you find, and I’ll be happy to assist further.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
