Whenever I try to start a ranked multiplayer or warzone match, I get the message "Matchmaking is unavailable because on or more party members don't meet secure attestation requirements." This would refer to the security attestation requirements of TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot being enabled. However, they are enabled and up to date. Using the Secure Attestation wizard provided by Call of Duty to check your requirements, I believe that everything should be updated. However, it will still not work, even after resetting TPM, reinstalling Windows 11, reinstalling the game. There are numerous threads on here that this is a problem. So, I believe that HP needs to release a new BIOS update in order to fix this. This seems similar to the issue found here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/Call-of-Duty-Black-OPS-6-7-Bios-update-required/m-p/95.... And it was solved by a new BIOS Update. I'm praying for a fix as this has not been solved for 3 weeks now! Please respond or make this issues known to HP! Thank you!Screenshot 2026-02-28 193652.png

Hi @BLTBravo,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your Call of Duty showing the secure attestation error even though TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are enabled. Let’s go through a few checks.

Before we proceed:

What exact HP model are you using?

What BIOS version is currently installed (check by typing msinfo32 in Start)?

Meanwhile, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Confirm Secure Boot Is Fully Enabled (Not Custom)

  • Restart the PC and tap F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Go to Security > Secure Boot Configuration.
  • Ensure Secure Boot = Enabled.
  • Ensure Legacy Support = Disabled.
  • If available, select Restore Factory Keys.
  • Save and exit.
  • Secure Boot must use factory keys for attestation to pass.

Step 2: Verify TPM Is Ready (Not Just Enabled)

  • Press Windows + R.
  • Type tpm.msc and press Enter.
  • Confirm Status shows “The TPM is ready for use.”
  • Check Specification Version shows 2.0.
  • If it says “TPM is owned but not ready,” clear TPM again from BIOS and reboot.

Step 3: Confirm Windows Is in UEFI Mode

  • Press Windows + R.
  • Type msinfo32 and press Enter.
  • Check BIOS Mode.
  • It must say UEFI (not Legacy).
  • If it says Legacy, secure attestation will fail even if Secure Boot is on.

Step 4: Check Drive Partition Style

  • Right-click Start and open Disk Management.
  • Right-click Disk 0 and select Properties.
  • Go to Volumes tab.
  • Confirm Partition Style is GPT.
  • MBR installations will not pass attestation.

Step 5: Update BIOS Directly From HP Website

  • Even if diagnostics say up to date:
  • Go to HP Support website.
  • Enter your exact HP model.
  • Manually compare your BIOS version to the latest listed.
  • Install the newest BIOS revision if newer is available.
  • Restart and retest the game.

Some BIOS revisions adjust Secure Boot certificate handling, which affects anti-cheat attestation.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for replying! My model is OMEN MAX Gaming Laptop 16-ah0xxx (Intel-Based). My BIOS version is Insyde F.21, 12/10/2025, which is the latest according to the Software & Drivers page.  I have confirmed that Secure Boot is enabled and Factory keys has been reset. Also, "The TPM is ready for use" and the specification version is 2.0. BIOS Mode is UEFI. Partition style of Disk 0 is GPT. And the latest BIOS Version is installed as stated earlier. Even after all these steps, it still doesn't work. There probably needs to be a new BIOS update.

Same exact model, same exact problem, with the same exact game.

Exactly, this has been a problem for so many users, and I'm not sure why this is not being acknowledged.

So here is what they told me in private messages. They said, "We have not heard of this problem before. And we will update you if a new BIOS update comes out." However, they continue to explain that they don't know if there is a BIOS update even being developed. Therefore, I have lost hope with this case, and I encourage everyone else to start a support chat/call with them to make this known. I don't know how they have never heard of this problem if 1.  There are multiple posts on this issue. 2. There are two comments on this new post alone with the same model and issue. I'm really not sure why this has been an issue for 3 weeks and there has been no progress. I wish that they can update us soon properly.
