Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (680A4AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Victus, version 24H2, and whenever I open the camera app, it shows no camera found.

Things I have done to fix this:

Uninstalled and re-installed my camera drivers.

Updated my camera drivers.

Troubleshoot camera in settings.

Restarted my laptop.

Checked device permissions.

None of them worked, any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi @GS2594

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I'm sorry to hear about the persistent camera issue with your HP Victus laptop. You've already tried many effective steps, so let's explore additional troubleshooting methods:

1. Check Device Manager for Hidden Devices

  • Open Device Manager and click View > Show Hidden Devices.
  • Look for your camera under Imaging Devices or Cameras. If it appears, right-click and select Enable.
  • If it doesn’t appear, click Action > Scan for Hardware Changes.

2. Reset the Camera App

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
  • Locate the Camera app, click the three dots, and select Advanced Options.
  • Use the Reset option to restore the app to its default state.

3. Update Windows

  • Ensure your system is fully updated by going to Settings > Windows Update and installing any pending updates.
  • Sometimes, updates include fixes for hardware compatibility issues.

4. Test in BIOS

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly to access the Startup Menu.
  • Select F10 (BIOS Setup) and check if the camera is detected in the BIOS. If it’s not, the issue might be hardware-related.

5. Install Generic Camera Drivers

  • In Device Manager, right-click on the camera (if visible) and select Update Driver > Browse My Computer for Drivers > Let Me Pick from a List.
  • Choose a generic driver from the list and install it.

6. Check Privacy Settings

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera and ensure camera access is enabled for your device and apps.

7. Perform a System Restore

  • If the camera worked previously, use System Restore to revert your system to a point when it was functioning correctly.
