Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (680A2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello

I've been facing problems with my camera since a few weeks. Google meet, zoom, microsoft teams and other applications are not able to find my camera.
When I open the camera app, the camera light starts for a split second and then goes off, and the app is just showing a blank screen.

I have installed all the updates, restarted my laptop, when I try updating the drivers it says the best drivers for your device are already installed, tried troubleshooting but no solution worked.

Hi @saksham_a

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for laying out all the details so clearly—it really helps. Based on what you’ve described, your HP Wide Vision HD Camera is likely experiencing a hardware initialization failure or a driver-level conflict, especially since the light flickers briefly and then shuts off.

Let’s walk through a layered fix to get your camera back in action.

🛠️ Step-by-Step Fix for Camera Not Working on HP Victus 15-fa0000

1. Check the Camera Toggle Key

  • Press Fn + F11 (or just F11)—this toggles the webcam on/off on many HP laptops.
  • Look for a camera icon with a slash on the key.

2. Reinstall the Camera Driver

  • Press Windows + X → open Device Manager.
  • Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
  • Right-click the camera → Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop—Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
  • If it doesn’t, download the latest driver from the HP Victus 15-fa0000 support page.

3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then press F2.
  • Select Component Tests > Webcam Test.
  • If the test fails or the camera disappears mid-test, it’s likely a hardware fault.

4. Check Camera Permissions

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  • Make sure Camera access is turned On.
  • Also enable “Let apps access your camera”.

5. Try the Camera in Safe Mode

  • Boot into Safe Mode with Networking.
  • Open the Camera app and see if it behaves differently.
  • If it works in Safe Mode, a third-party app or service may be interfering.

Let me know how far you get—I’ll stick with you until your camera’s back in focus 💪📷.
