Hi,
I have an OMEN 15-ax009np, which came from origin with 512 GB SSD hard drive.
I want to increase it to 1TB, I want to know if this laptop has more than one slot for ssd hardrive or just one, if it has second one I just have to buy another of 512GB, otherwise I'll have to by a 1TB.
I look forward for your support.
Thanks in advance.
Nuno

Hello @nunonuk
Your model only has one m.2 slot that can use either NVMe or Sata m.2 drives.
Rather than replace the existing NVMe drive, I would consider adding a 2.5 inch Sata SSD in the empty HDD bay.
Most likely you will have to purchase the 2.5 inch brackets and cable but you would gain the use of a lot of storage for much cheaper than replacing the 512 NVMe.
You can find 1TB 2.5 in Sata SSD's for around $200 (USA). You would most likely have to buy the brackets and cable from HP which is a little pricey, but considering what you gain, might be worth it.
Bracket 913937-001
Cable 858969-001

Hope it helps.

Hi @Photoray002,
Yes, it helped a lot. And the manual, thanks a lot.
Already purchased a 1tb disc and the pieces from a HP official distributer.
The only problem is that it will take 14 days to arrive, but ok, it's worthy.
I have another question,
According to the manual, I have two 820570-005 pieces of ram(8GB). In the manual, there is no reference to 16GB pieces, what would be the references of 16GB pieces of ram for processors 6th generation? And, is it possible to add just one and stay with one of 16BG and another of 8GB?
Thanks in advance for your time.
Nuno

There is no reference to 16GB pieces, what would be the references of 16GB pieces of ram for processors 6th generation?
In the Maintenance Manual, it explains that it is capable of up to 16GB ram (2x8GB).
That means it supports up to 8GB sticks per slot.

I have heard some talk about upgrading the 15 inch ax000 models, but users reported problems upgrading with16GB sticks. HP only tested that board to run a max of 16GB total.
If you try it and it fails, sellers usually wont take the memory back for a refund. So I recommend staying with the 2x8 config.
