Hello experts,
In the specs of my notebook, it said: "1 superspeed usb type-c® 5gbps signaling rate (displayport™ 1.4, hp sleep and charge) "
Does this mean the USB-C port is wired directly to the laptop's dedicated NVIDIA graphics (dGPU) ?

Hi @Duy_Loc_01,

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP Omen 15 (2020) and your question about whether the USB-C (5Gbps, DP 1.4, Sleep & Charge) is wired to the NVIDIA GPU. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
Check the GPU assignment for the USB-C Display Output
On most Omen 15 (2020) models, the USB-C DisplayPort output is routed through the NVIDIA GPU.
To verify, connect an external monitor via USB-C → DP/HDMI adapter and check if the NVIDIA GPU becomes active in Task Manager.
Verify in NVIDIA Control Panel
Open NVIDIA Control Panel → “Set PhysX configuration.”
If the USB-C/DisplayPort output is tied to the NVIDIA GPU, you’ll see it listed under the GPU output mapping.
Check Windows Graphics Settings
Go to Settings → System → Display → Graphics.
Launch an app on the external display; if it automatically switches to “High Performance (NVIDIA),” it indicates the port is routed through the dGPU.
Confirm Monitor Capabilities
When connected via USB-C DisplayPort, check the external monitor’s refresh rate options.
Higher refresh rate availability is another sign that the connection uses the NVIDIA GPU instead of the iGPU.
Review Your Specific Model’s Configurations
Different Omen 15 2020 variants (Ryzen vs Intel, GTX vs RTX) may have small routing differences.
Most models with USB-C DisplayPort 1.4 do use the NVIDIA GPU for external displays, but verifying with the steps above gives a definitive answer.
I hope this helps.
