Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I recently bought a monitor to connect it with my laptop with a 10 m HDMI cable. When I connect them the monitor goes automaticaly in sleep mode. I connected my laptop to other monitors with the same cable and the worked fine. I tried other HDMI cables with my laptop and the monitor and they all worked. Further more, I tried another laptop with the cable and the monitor and they worked. I contacted the monitor dealer and they said that it may be my laptops problem. When I am in the graphics card settings i can see that my laptop is connected with the monitor but nothing more, only a black screen in my monitor. Can someone help?

What monitor is it?

When you go into the nvidia settings and see the external monitor, what is the resolution and Hz set to?

Change (lower) the res and see if it works now.

Thanks for your answer. I have already tried this and nothing changed. As I said, with the same settings but other cables the monitor works. As I know, the laptop cant understand what cable I connect each time and considering that the secific cable works well, I can't find a solution. The monitor is a samsung 24'. How is it possible only one specif combination not to work?

OK its a 1080p 75Hz monitor.

Im not sure I understand the question....

If I am reading this correctly, you want to know why its not working with a specific 10' m HDMI cable, but other cables work just fine?

That is odd and I would have no way of knowing that. IF your setting are 1080 at 60 and it still doesnt work, I have not seen that before. Im sorry. Ive seen this issue with the W series and 4K, but not 1080.

Yes, I am 1080 with 60. I tried and lower resolutions and nothing happened. So weird
