hello 

Can i upgrade the memory to 32 GB or more  for hp omen 17 w202na?

Hi:

 

According to HP you can't, but according to Crucial you can.

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.  The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.

 

The manual indicates 2 x 8 GB is the max.

I know the chipset and processor your notebook has can support 32 GB of memory.

 

I'm thinking that HP did not test 16 GB memory modules in that model series.

That is correct. The W200 series can use 32GB. Several users have done so.

I would also suggest you use @Paul_Tikkanen's link to the Crucial website. Some users have had issues with other brands of memory not working in those HP Omens correctly. But the Crucial memory has been very successful.
