HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0058wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey there. I got this laptop in February and have enjoyed it ever since. Yesterday. when I came home, I found this unidentifiable black, almost oil like substance all over my charger. I washed it with a wet paper towel, dried it, and let it sit for 15 minutes before plugging it in to my computer, to see if the charger was damaged. Now, the computer is refusing to charge, and I'm typing this on 12% battery (lol). What I hypothesis is that some of the substance got into the charging port and damaged it somehow, or it's blocking the actual charger from connecting. I know the actual charger isn't damaged, as it works on other laptops. Could it be possible that this unknown substance is clogging the charger or has damaged it to the point of repairs?

P.S: I already contacted my warranty provider and they said they can fix it, I'm just wondering if I can find out what happened, and if charging ports get damaged easily.

Thank you!
